Timothy Myers, conductor
Conductor Timothy Myers helped recapture the magic during the revival of The Pearl Fishers at the Santa Fe Opera.
“Timothy Myers emphasized dramatic contrasts in his conducting, with a wide range of dynamics, propulsive fast tempos and slower sections that at first seemed leisurely, but then built up suspense to intense climaxes,” says the Santa Fe New Mexican.
“Making his Santa Fe Opera debut, conductor Timothy Myers was impressive as he paced the action with vitality and flexibility. He handled his singers with care and he seemed to have just the right ‘stuff’ for the French repertoire,” says Broadway World.
The Pearl Fishers can be seen on July 5, 10, August 8, 16, and 23.

Nicholas McGegan, conductor
Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung / HAZ recently reviewed Nicholas McGegan’s conducting Handel's Samson: “Responsible for this star event was conductor Nicholas McGegan. He is one of a few conductors that can create an unmistakable, unique sound…McGegan does not let any crescendo, any shift of stress, any trumpet signal pass him by. With him one understands that baroque music is not like later works based on longer development but on an often quickly changing roller coaster of emotions."
