Miller Symphony Hall
If you have never seen a full-size swinging big band up close, this is your chance on Friday, July 21. Rob Stoneback and his band cover almost the whole spectrum of big band music: beautiful, romantic ballads, toe-tapping swing, and hip-swinging Latin—all this and more.
Nicholas McGegan, conductor
Conductor Nicholas McGegan will lead Handel’s Samson on Friday, June 21, with NDR Radio Orchestra Hannover, soprano Sherezade Panthaki, tenor Thomas Cooley, baritone William Berger, and bass-baritone Douglas Williams. Nicholas was artistic director of the Handel Festival Göttingen for 20 years; in 2009 he presented a highly praised "Samson" recording with the local festival orchestra. Some of the soloists of that time are also in Hanover for this performance.
