Timothy Myers, conductor
Conductor Timothy Myers announced his Opera Theatre of Saint Louis debut, set to lead Bizet’s Carmen that opens the 2020 festival season on May 23 next year. Also, congratulations are in order, as he was part of the team for Austin Opera’s production of Silent Night, which was the winner of a 2018-2019 Austin Critics Table Award. Timothy is the Artistic Advisor to this award-winning opera company.
Carl Topilow, conductor
Conductor Carl Topilow had a rousing opening night on June 8 with the National Repertory Orchestra and cello soloist Sam Viguerie. The summer is well underway for the NRO, as Carl leads the student musicians through practice and performance.
Nicholas McGegan, conductor
The Calgary Herald recently reviewed the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra's Bach Festival, conducted by Nicholas McGegan. “McGegan always projected good ideas from the podium, and with strong instrumental and vocal soloists, there was a sense of spark that could easily be sensed. Miller Symphony Hall
On Wednesday, Miller Symphony Hall will begin hosting The Met: Live in HD Summer Encore Series. It kicks off on June 19 with Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. Then on Wednesday, June 26, enjoy the classic production of Puccini’s ever-popular masterpiece La Bohème. Have a little laugh on Wednesday, July 10, with Rossini’s comedy Il Barbiere Di Siviglia.
