The Cleveland Pops Chorus and Cleveland Pops Orchestra are joined by vocalists from the US Army Soldiers Chorus from Fort Meade to give the city's most cherished tribute to our heroes on Friday, May 24. The 18th Annual American Salute will include military-inspired patriotic music and sing-alongs.

The PYPA Festival welcomes Sara Davis Buechner, who will perform in a stellar program of works by Mozart, Brahms, Gershwin and Kouji Taku on Friday, August 9. Noted for her musical command, cosmopolitan artistry, and visionary independence, Sara Davis Buechner is one of the most original concert pianists of our time. Lauded for her “intelligence, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess” (The New York Times), “thoughtful artistry in the full service of music” (Washington Post), and “astounding virtuosity” (Philippine Star), Japan’s InTune magazine sums up: “Buechner has no superior.”

Miller Symphony Hall
On Thursday, the Allentown Symphony Orchestra took the audience behind the scenes for a unique event that went on a journey from the composer’s vision, to rehearsal, to live performance. During the first portion of Inside the Score, Music Director/Conductor Diane Wittry, joined by composer Matthew Quayle, discussed the orchestra’s rehearsal of this new piece featuring ASO Assistant Principal Cellist Jameson Platte. Then the ASO premiered the first live performance of this work – a rare opportunity so see, hear and understand how the music goes from a composer’s inspiration to the concert hall.
Oregon Bach Festival
The Oregon Bach Festival recently hosted award-winning pianist and composer Darrell Grant for a residency at University of Oregon! In addition to other exciting events and classroom visits, Grant and Oregon Bach Festival hosted an artisan and maker panel, exploring The Territory. Darrell and a panel of artisans spoke about the sense of place and how their work connects them to their environments. Grant also visited and performed at the Historic Mims House for a special private concert in conjunction with the NAACP Eugene.
